Starting on the 4th of July, the public can climb to the crown of the Statue of Liberty. It has been closed since the 9/11 attacks in New York City. I had the pleasure of visiting Liberty Island in 2003 but was unable to make the climb. This news is very exciting and I look forward to making another trip to New York and experiencing the view from the crown. These pictures of The Statue of Liberty are from my 2003 visit.
